Down these mean streets
Down these mean streets is a story about a young African American male living in a bad neighborhood in Harlem New York with his mother and siblings. Piri is the main character of this story and his life is not easy at all. He grew with a father who wasn't the best role model and a mother who tried her best and did the best that she could for her children. Piri is not a bad person he just does some bad things every once in a while but you really can't blame him for everything that goes wrong in his life because he grew up with parents who set examples along with being a product oh his environment. There are some things that PIri does in the story that are questionable and even could leave you saying how could he do that but u believe that there is something way deeper than what we see and/or read. In the story Piri'S father puts his hands on his mother and yells at her as we'll often witch is a show of an unstable household. Later in the story we read that Piri gets so up set with his girlfriend who is also very controlling towards, he balls his fist aiming for her face but misses and his fist goes straight through a glass window leaveing him with a bloody hand which he has to go to the hospital for. After this situation his girlfriend doesn't break up with him or stop talking to him , she continues a realationship with him, this shows a lot about the women in his neighborhood as we'll and also that male hitting or trying to hit you is okay and is something that a women has to just tolerate and deal with. This is even worse for Piri because it will just make his way of dealing with anger an even bigger issue than it is, we know Piri has and issue from what he did in school when he punched his teacher in the face and the moments leading up to him trying to hit his girlfriend in the story, he was not able to stop his anger from reaching a point of no return which in the future could lead to him doing something that he will have to regret and live with. I in a way feel bad for Piri because this is the only way of life that he knows and that he is used to and he will need some serious help getting out of those bad habits that put his and others lives in danger. Since the time setting isn't when blacks were treated fairly in the u.s it could have been a little bit harder for him to find the help that he desperately needs. If I was him I would be my own therapist and get out of my bad ways.
Breaking bad
Breaking bad is a hit t.v show that our class has started to watch in class and it's about a teacher name mr. White who has been recently diagnosed with cancer and is hiding it from his family and friends. He runs ino one of his old students who Is now a drug dealer and is in trouble with the authorities. He decides to treat his illness with drugs along with his girl ember student who is now interested in have better "product" to sell to his "costumes". During their journey they kill a former friend of the students' who was also a drug dealer and hold a real active of the dead guy in mr. White's basement who he was suppose to kill but can't bring himself to take another humans life after he was responsible for the first death. Instead of him killing the guy he keeps him in the basement attached to a pole be metal around his neck, he feeds his hostage daily ,allows him to use the bathroom and also checks on him everyday. His accomplise does not agree with this and stresses to him that what he is doing is dangerous to and for them. If I was in in mr. Whites position I would be terrified of what could happen to me and my family as a result of my actions and I would also be very much stressed over the fact that I have cancer and haven't told my family, which means I could die and my family wouldn't be alar to prepare themselves for such a horrible thing. I think that I would have wound up turning my self in because I couldn't deal with having what I did on my mind and heart for the rest of my life. I think that mr. White needs to let his family know right away the status of his health and figure out the best way to deal with what he and his former student did to those two people.
